  • SPONTANEOUS SUPERSTARS - Ages 7-10

  • One week: $200       Instructor: Charlie Henry w/ Tegan Kelley

It’s a bird. It’s a plane. Wait, it’s both, flying across your Ashland stage! This camp for kids 7-10 is all about bringing our most fantastic ideas to life in a celebration of young improvisers. In this class, students will explore a range of improv games surrounding character, storytelling, physicality and more, building up to a final showcase that will be sure to inspire and enthrall.


  • YOUNG PERFORMERS - Ages 7-11 - instructor approval required

  • July 15-18  (Tue-Fri), July 21-25  (Mon-Fri) from 9am-12pm       

  • At the Bellview Grange, 1050 Tolman Creek, Rd, Ashland

Learning the craft of acting while rehearsing and performing a play, is the focus of this camp. Students will experience the process of a production from the first read-thru to the final curtain call. Each day will begin with warm-ups, skill building games and exercises, followed by the staging and rehearsing of a short play. Line memorization, vocal projection and articulation, character discovery and development, will all be a part of this camp as the ensemble builds to a showcase performance on the final day of camp!


  • IMAGINATION MUSICAL - Ages 8-11

Do you sometimes wish life had a soundtrack? Does expressing yourself with music sound fun? Then this is the camp for you! We will find the rainbow connection between theater exercises and rhythm. Students will develop sketches that link together three songs from popular musicals, creating our own mini-musical with story, singing, and dancing. On the final day, family and friends can enjoy our world premiere! Join us for a harmonizing good time.


  • SKETCH COMEDY: Writing & Performing - Ages 9-12

  • One week: $200         Instructor: Jeremy Criswell w/ Georgia Black

  • June 23-27  (Mon-Fri) from 10am-1pm

Over the course of the week, we’ll use improvisation and storytelling to generate a series of sketch comedy vignettes and bring them to the stage! Students will work to create character personalities and build on ideas that enhance the humor in each scene. On the final day of camp, we welcome friends and families to delight in all the humor we find. 


  • CIRCUS SIDELINES - Ages 9-12

Have you ever wanted to balance a spinning plate on your finger? How about get trapped in an invisible box, or wind up with a big, red nose? If so, you belong on the circus sidelines! In this two-week camp, students will try their hand at multiple forms of juggling as well as mime and clowning skills. A final performance will leave friends and family rolling with laughter and amazement!


  • YOUTH MYSTERY THEATRE - Ages 11-14 - instructor approval required

  • Two weeks: $350       Instructors: Eve Smyth & Kate Sullivan

Mystery, intrigue and comedy! Students will rehearse a short play filled with intrigue, clues, red herrings, and secrets! Actors will work on character development, timing, and voice training, as they explore the mystery genre. Memorization of lines, cues, and blocking will be elements of this camp, along with a lot of fun and a performance on the last day!


  • IMPROV - ON THE FLY  - Ages: 11-14

No script? No problem! In this camp, students will dive into a wide variety of improvisation methods, practicing comedy, drama, and everything in between as they seize the stage. Over the span of four days, students will build skills of comedic timing, listening, and group play—and close with a stunningly silly showcase to share!


  • TEENPROV -   Ages: 13+

Do you love a good story arc? Do you dare to spin one together on the spot with the help of equally brilliant, equally quirky minds? There’s a camp for that! This summer camp is all about stretching the storyteller in you, as it will move from fast paced improv games to dramatic quests, serial stories, and the kinds of twisty, turny plots that will make you clamber for a sequel. A final performance will weave yarns before your eyes to the audience’s amazement!


  • TEEN MYSTERY THEATRE Ages: 13+    - Audition or instructor approval required –

This intensive two-week performance camp will delve into the mystery genre in classic Film Noir style - with a comic twist!  Ashland Children’s Theatre is excited to present its eighth Teen Mystery Theatre original play.  Actors rehearse and travel to the 1940’s as we develop the script into a full production with four public performances.  In addition to actors, we welcome students who are interested in lighting, sound, stage management, and production.  This will be an intensive rehearsal/production camp.  Mysterious knocks on the door, suspicious characters with strange accents, and curious secrets all play into the plot that takes the audience into the world of noir, laughing all the way.
